Herbert Katzmann

Born in Chicago, Herbert Katzman attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he developed an expressionist style of oil painting, heavily impastoed and unflinchingly committed to figuration. After moving to New York in the ‘50s, Katzman was widely exhibited in galleries and museum shows, such as the 1956 Venice Biennale. |
